It couldn't be an early-morning swim as the indoor pool here doesn't open until 10 am, so we had breakfast first, then spent a very pleasant half hour in the pool and jacuzzi. Part of the time we were on our own, so I was able to do a few aquafit exercises - sorry no photos! The campsite office had given us a booklet of walks from the site, so we chose the Tour of La Forge following blue and yellow signs.
It took us along farm and forest tracks over undulating hills to the village of Annonville in a valley, returning by a different route. We met some beautiful, inquisitive cows, but it took till we sat on the wall at the church to eat our lunch before we saw a human being - an old chap opening his barn door to bring out his tractor.
Then as we walked through the village back to the path, a young lad of 12ish came past on his bike (no school on Wednesdays?) and bonjoured us and did a couple of twirls in the road. That was as exciting as it gets around here! It is necessary to note, though, that our French is somewhat better than the translater of the walk notes. The last section reads: Walk down through the fields towards Thonnance les Moulins and rejoin the campsite via the old railway line that passes in front of the old station, where it is today written "Chemin de Fer" on it, which means station house in English. Oh no is doesn't!!The weather was just right for walking - warm enough not to need a jacket - with hazy sunshine and some clouds. But on the way back we could see the dark clouds approaching. We got back to the van at 3.30 - the rain started at 3.40!!
Tomorrow we shall be moving on south, probably stopping at a France Passion in Burgundy. No wifi there, but the next day we expect to be in the Alps at a campsite beside Lake Annecy - hopefully with wifi.
Love to all our readers.

Lovely weather here the last few days, bit windy today but got the sheets dried. Have you seen the email from Vikki telling us she is moving back to Devon in July! We shall miss her at rock choir and it won't be the same- even if the new lady is very nice. Several people turned up early or stayed later on Wednesday so all went smoothly. love Helenx
